This series of images were inspired by the broken frames of 35mm cinema film which would be removed from the reel due to wear and tear. These images, which are only on screen for 1/24th of a second, seemed so rich in narrative structure, that I felt inspired to save them from the bin and recreate them on canvas.

I chose only to paint frames that were unfamiliar to me, hoping that one day I would spot them while watching a film. So far I have identified two, so if you are a keen film buff and recognise any of the films I would love it if you could let me know what they are.
